RIVERS STATE TO HOST 64 MEETING OF THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON EDUCATION (NCE) MONDAY
In demonstration of its avowed commitment to the development of Education in the Country, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has graciously accepted to host the 64 Meeting of the National Council on Education (NCE) which comes up in Port Harcourt at Obi Wali International Conference Centre along G.U. Ake Road, Port Harcourt on the 4th – 8th November 2019.
The 64 Meeting of the National Council on Education is a gathering of
experts in Education promises to be an epoch-making event for the formulation
of policies and programmes for the actualization of quality education in line
with National Policy on Education (NPE) in the country.
A statement from the State Ministry of Education says, the theme of the conference is: “Education for Self-Reliance; A tool for the achievement of Education 2030 Agenda”.
The NCE meeting, which is the highest policy making body on Education in the country has 3 segments which are;
The opening ceremony
The Official Technical Session and
The Ministerial session
The opening session comes up on Monday 4 November, 2019 and will be declared open by the Secretary to the Government of Rivers State, Dr Tammy Wenike Danagogo.
The Official Technical session will commence same day, Monday 4th November to Wednesday 6 November 2019, with the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Education, Arc Sonny S.T Echono as Cnairman, where all memos as Summary and Recommendations both at the Reference and JCCE meetings would be presented, discussed and adopted as Memos to Council.
The Third and Final Session of NCE is the gathering of all Hon. Commissioners for Education in the Federation and Federal Capital Territory.
The Ministerial Session which comes up on Thursday, 7th November 2019 will be declared open by His Excellency, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the
Governor of Rivers State as the Special Guest of Honour and would be chaired by the Hon. Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu.
It will the gathering of Directors of Education, Permanent Secretaries of Ministries of Education in the 36 States, Hon. Commissioners of Education and the Minister of Education and other stakeholders and NGOs in the Education Industry. It is indeed expected to end on Friday 8th November, 2019, gloriously.
